I have been a member of the Relief Society for 16 years. The Relief Society is a philanthropic and educational women's organization that was started in 1842. This organization has six million members in 170 countries. It is one of the oldest and largest women's organizations in the world.
For the past year and a half I have been in a leadership position in the Relief Society. Our mission is to bring relief to those who are suffering; whether from divorce, death of a loved one, relocation, job loss, or any other suffering of the human family. We organize the funds and commodities to assist those who are in need.
I have learned to be more patient, kind, generous, and how to have real empathy for those who are down on their luck. We offer not only physical help but emotional and spiritual strength as well.
