The Army's biomedical equipment specialist is primarily responsible for servicing and maintaining all medical equipment. I service and maintain medical equipment with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, digital, optical and radiological principals, figure out power and space requirements for medical equipment installations, install medical equipment, and prepare and submit medical equipment reports.
Supports patient diagnosing and treatment by installing, testing, calibrating, and repairing biomedical equipment; training users; maintaining safe operations. Maintain biomedical equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; conducting tests; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions; calling for special service; evaluating service contracts, and maintaining equipment inventories.

Biomedical Equipment Technician II, 05/2014 - 10/2015
Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect medical equipment and instrumentation, including life-support equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems. Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions. Assist with and evaluate third-party repairs. Provide technical assistance and instruction personnel regarding equipment operation and maintenance. Review outcome of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendations to department staff concerning improvements. Provide mentoring to other biomedical equipment techs. Strong organizational abilities with an ability to develop and establish record and file keeping procedures. Ability to operate general business machines such as personal computer, copier, and fax. Demonstrates proficiency on all Microsoft Office applications as well has the ability to quickly learn and utilize various corporate or computer based applications as required. Ability to multi-task daily and project driven requirements.
